Charge Nurse RN
Under general supervision, responsible for the nursing needs of residents, while actively incorporating our Philosophy for Person-Directed Care.
Ensures a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors to participate in the resident's daily life rhythm.
Develops assignments in coordination with the care partners and keeps each team member accountable for resident care and satisfaction.
Lead and direct a team of caregivers in assigned area.
Duties and assignments may be adjusted at the discretion of the Director of Nursing Services and/or designee.
The following duties are normal for this position.
These are not exclusive or all-inclusive.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Facilitates nursing care provided to all residents and includes residents in decision making processes; Actively engages residents in participation in daily activities which are part of resident's rhythm of daily life (including desired hygiene, grooming, and mobility); Assesses resident's needs at the time of admission and continually evaluates residents' condition during the duration of their stay and promotes the highest functional level of independence possible (keeping in compliance with state and federal regulations, and the community's safety procedures); Leads and directs care partners by providing support, encouragement, and direction as appropriate; Makes frequent rounds and utilizes the nursing process to identify resident conditions that require further evaluation and treatment by a physician; Reports significant medical changes to the relevant Team Members, Physician, DON, HSA and designated family members as appropriate; Responds to emergency situations, carries out physician orders, and documents the event, interventions, and outcomes; Accurately and completely performs direct nursing services, such as, medication administration, treatments, personal care and other nursing procedures.
Accurately receives documents and transcribes Physician Orders with the appropriate follow-through in a timely fashion, specifically advocating resident safety; Assures proper documentation including but not limited to:
consents, summary notes, care plans, medication records, etc.
To be Successful -Education:
Completion of Licensed Registered Nursing Program (RN)Experience/Training:
Clinical observation and assessment skills Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records and communicate with team members.
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional managerial experience in related field Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current RN license in California Current CPR certification Preferred:
